·  00:00:06-00:00:15: Police siren sound effect will play quietly in the background – simultaneously, dialogue from the news reporter can be heard: “We are live at the scene of the crime. It is little known of who the assailant might be, as there is no evidence other than potential finger prints.” – This dialogue will also be sound bridged onto a black screen with the title “An IBF Film”. Both the dialogue and police siren will fade out.

·         00:00:16-00:00:22: Voice over from the TV of the news reporter’s live broadcast continues, “It is clear that the victim was stabbed multiple times in his abdomen. There is no doubt that this was a murder.”

Planning - Location Shots

These are the location which are seen in our feature film opening scenes:

This location is featured where the main character, Peter, is trying to see his brother's dead body. I chose this specifically because it is a neighborhood. So it gives more of a community feel, as mentioned in the news report. It also gives a more drastic affect as a murder could happen in a family based community/neighborhood.

This location is only shown for a little while and is shown when the character Peter is crossing the road.

This location is used when the character, Sarah (Peter's wife), is cooking and over hears the news report. I chose this location as it has a more family, homely feel. I wanted Sarah to start here to represent the connotations of a house wife cooking for her family.

This location is the living room where the character Peter discovers his brother's death. I chose this location as again it represents that a family lives here. Also, when the character, Sarah hears the new report i wanted it to be organic - the kitchen and the living room are connected so it makes it more believable and realistic.

This location is just the staircase where the character Peter is seen coming down the stairs after playing with his children.

Planning - Initial Ideas

Idea:Drama

Initially, I thought of creating some sort of drama based on a musical protege. The story would open with the main character singing to a crowd of music executives. However, the musical protege has a secret which wants to come out from her past. When a man appears peering from behind a door frame brings more trouble than happiness.

• I thought that the opening could begin with the singing of the  main character over some of the opening credits. The opening credits would appear from a black screen referring back to a tracking tilt-up shot of a man walking with emphasis on his foot steps still being able to hear the sing in the background.
• As the reveal of the character is about to be seen we cut to the crowd of executives then to the girls' aunt who looks completely pleased. The main character is yet to be revealed.
• The main character is then revealed to close to the end of the song. When she ends she smiles from the emotional song. She walks off the stage to be greeted by her aunt she looks up to see the man in the back who then disappears she then walks through the door to follow him whilst her aunt is talking about record deals with music executives.
• The scene will then cut to an OS shot of the girl running towards the man she catches up to him and turns him around. Where the embrace each other and talk which goes from positive to negative where she throws a lockets on the floor,steps on it and walks but into the building. 

However as a group we decided not to go with this idea.

Planning - Initial Ideas

Idea: Murder/Mystery
Initially, we thought of creating some form of murder related story. The story would open with the main character seemingly on the run, but it isn't clear why he desires a route of escape. However, the character himself struggles to contain the emotions he is experiencing and is torn between what to do. Ultimately, he decides to return to what is presumed to be the house, where the murder occurred.

• We thought that the opening could begin with the main character lighting a match and starting a fire. There would then be a close up of the fire, before the main character begins throwing photographs into the flame and watching them burn. Within the flames, we could potentially include titles floating away from the fire, This may display some creativity and be of a more professional standard. However, this would perhaps be difficult to achieve with the lack of experience and our own inept working knowledge of the required software tools to create it. Additionally, we could include a voice over with the main character alluding to the murder and his inevitable downfall. 
• As the main character heads towards the home, the camera would follow him using a tracking shot. Furthermore, we could implement other titles beside him. 
• When the main character reaches the home, there would be an establishing shot and then the title of the film would appear above the main character as he walks towards the front door of the home. 
• In terms of costumes, the main character would be dressed in fairly casual clothing, but they would be torn and he would clearly be very dirty (perhaps covered in mud on some areas of the body). This would represent a sense of uncertainty surrounding the character and symbolise his own misfortune. Along with this, it may also indicate an enigma.

Peter is a business man who enjoys comfortable days with his children. So to build on his look he will be dress in casual wear. For example he will be dressed in a nice top and jeans,

Is also in business and has just gotten back from work so she will be dressed in modern chic business wear and props will include household cooking equipment. For example pots and wooden spoons.

As she is reporting a murder in the cold she will be wearing a suit with probably a jumper and scarf and coat.
